For humans

The main editor is your cloud pasteboard. Most people only notice Copy and Paste in the header — the gestures and mobile menu below are easy to miss.

Paste and copy

Use header Paste / Copy, or Ctrl/⌘+V and Ctrl/⌘+C when the editor is focused.

Paste accepts:

  • Plain text
  • HTML (cleaned before insert)
  • Image files from the system clipboard

Copy writes MIME types that match the selection (plain text, HTML, images). WebP is converted to PNG for the system clipboard; SVG stays SVG.

On phone and tablet, Copy, Paste, and Insert image often live inside the header Edit menu rather than as separate buttons.

Insert image

On viewports below the large-desktop breakpoint, open Edit → Insert image to pick photos from the device (camera / library / files, depending on the OS). Desktop users can still paste images from the clipboard.

Signed-in uploads convert most images to WebP (animated GIF → animated WebP; SVG stays SVG), scaled so the longest side fits within 2048×1920.

Selection gestures

  • Long-press text or an image (or tap an image) to collapse the soft keyboard and work with the selection.
  • Tap an image to add it to the selection range (outline shows it selected). Tap a boundary image again to drop it from the selection.
  • System text handles still select characters; image taps are the shortcut for including pictures.

Mobile export and share

On phone-width viewports only (< md), with a selection active, the Edit menu also offers:

  • Download text / Download HTML
  • Share text / Share HTML

HTML exports embed images as base64. Desktop does not show download or share. Empty selection disables these actions.

Delete with undo

On phone and tablet, Edit → Delete removes the selection. A notification dialog offers Undo for a few seconds.
